So I’ve totally dived into Twitter with two feet and dragged a few people with me. Along the way, you get to passively stalk people from around the world.

Here’s one who was recommended on #FollowFriday today, and have completely created a digital crush on, Julia Roy.

And Damn. I wish all bloggers/twitterers/YouTubers/Digital Princesses were this hot. I think Web 3.0 needs to be the Safe for Work blend of technology and hotties. That’s the only way you’re going to get people who aren’t online online. That’s the only way you are going to get people who say, “I don’t want to understand RSS” to understand and USE RSS.

The fact she’s a geek. The fact that she has a t-shirt on that says, “I.see dead pixels” – and those glasses. Wow. Add to that mix a gal who knows how to use social media, knows that SEO is not the name of a boat and can spell WHYSIWYG – I’m sold.

Julia – if you happen across this post – (I’m sure you have a Google Alert setup) this is just an homage. Adam’s the one you would have to worry about stalking you, and you’re not really his type.

You’ve probably already figured it out, but the site’s changed! And I think, for the better. We’ve done a LOT of user tests, wondering what it is you guys (and girls) like – and after we threw that data out, we decided to start anew. A couple of things – if you are a Facebook user, you will “automagically” be logged in to this site for commenting purposes. Additionally, being able to share our posts within the “stream” is simply a matter of clicking the “Share” link beneath posts. We’ve cleaned up our RSS feed, and started showing everyone what people are talking about. Whew.

Lots of other little things throughout the site that will make it a bit more pleasant. Also – if you run into some problems, something doesn’t look/work right – just let me know in the comments, and I’ll get right on it – no bullshit.

Remember Hotmail? Hotmail was my first email accountin college, received shortly after Fred Mowery said “here, let me show you what the internet is…” You used to type in your username and password and bingo! You’ve got mail. I still have a hotmail account which I use to sign up for porn sites and the ACLU, but what happened to Hotmail? It’s now this whole Windows Live experience and twelve passwords and do you want to go to MSN.com? Hey, Hotmail, not everything on the internet needs to be an “experience.” No every site has to manage my life, I appreciate that I can use your program to shop and read the news and make a powerpoint and access the webcam in my neighbor’s shower, but I’d like to read my mail. If I want a book I’ll got to Amazon, if I want the weather, I’m sure there’s a site for that with the word “weather” in the URL. It’s amazing that the  most radical thing in the current era of web 2.0 is pages like Google and Gmail and Schadenfreude. Plain and simple.
