It’s been a long crazy road, and although we haven’t done a spot-on job of critiquing every moment, we have done our fair share of pokes, jabs and OMGs here on Schadenfreude.

I think we’re all ready to see how this wraps up in the final 2.5 hours. I think we’re finally ready to see Jack win in the end. And if you think that’s a spoiler, I remind you, this is Network Television. The good guys always win in the end. That’s what “Scarecrow and Mrs. King” taught me. You want to know what happens when the good guys don’t win in the end? You get the “Seinfeld” series finale. And no one wants that.

This show is on FIRE. Sure, last week’s was kind of a bust. Apparently we all loved Juliet and needed to mourn her passing… to “V” – so we did. And, quite honestly, I love new-Kate vs. old-Kate. old-Kate is just so… angsty – and tries to motivate herself with issues for others, but it’s such a veil for her own insecurities… new-Kate on the otherhand is just into herself… until it comes to Claire/Aaron. But otherwise, pretty kick ass.

Enough about that crap, let’s get into the serious topics of last night’s show. Let’s start with the single best moment in all seasons of Lost ever:

• I think right about now, Lapidus (Jeff Fahey) is my favorite character on this show. He gets the best lines, is intertwined now with the island, and yet, is somehow outside of it as well. From the moment he looks at Jack and says, “We aren’t going to Guam, are we?” to this – by far – the coolest guy. LOST has done the one thing that has been needed – and that is, adding someone to be MY perspective. Case in point:

• So beyond that – here’s my theory on the end of the show. Last scene of LOST is going to be…. [insert drum roll] a shot of Jack and Sawyer sitting on the beach with a ship approaching them. BOOM. There you have it, mark it down – it makes the most sense. Sawyer is obviously becoming Jacob – with his insistence of not leaving the island, not wanting to return to the real world and being blonde. Jack is clearly the smoke monster, as the smoke monster last night started to actually reveal himself to be “Jack” of this episode with the insistence of yelling, “You can’t tell me what to do.” The others in the temple have invited the next generation of Smoke Monster INSIDE THEIR WALLS. And they are both dark-haired.
• And let’s face it – Hugo kicks ass no matter what timeline he’s in. Whether Island-Present or Alt – he gets on people’s good side, and is just a stand-up kinda guy. Let’s here it for Reyes.
• Not a big fan of the explanation of the numbers… “Jacob has a thing for numbers.” – but let’s face it guys – that is ALL we are going to get about that.
• Why wasn’t Kate’s name on the wall? She was visited by Jacob just like everyone else, so she should have been represented by the numbers… What IS her deal already?
• My brother-in-law had the best call… “Sawyer has a bit of Kid Rock in him.” Very true. Very true, indeed. Now we just need him to hum a little “Bawitdaba” during a jungle walk.
• Sawyer is a learned-man. Telling the story of “Of Mice and Men” Twitter-style. 140 words or less, ending with a gun pointed at Flocke’s head. Nice.
• I get it alt-World. Everyone from the flight is destined to interact with each other. However, I’m beginning to get insulted with the “isn’t it CRAZY that Ben is a European History Teacher?!?!?! LOL LMFAO!! ” Guys – this had better have a payoff, or I’m gonna get pissed that we’re spending this much time off the Island-Present.

Locke/Flocke, Ben, Richard, Ajira Flight, and it’s all good! Damn, this is some exciting stuff! Tuesday can’t come fast enough!

So, at first, I likened the Air France missing story to “Lost”.  My bad, very insensitive, I’m sorry.  But, c’mon, it STILL kinda matches.  The plane “disappears from radar” – THEN – we “find” a plane, and parts of a plane… It’s just like “LOST” and I’m holding out that Jacob is real, and that in 3 years, we’ll meet the “Air France 6″ – and then we’ll see who’s laughing.

However – today, someone sent me an article that an Italian woman had missed the Air France flight – and just died in a car accident!!

MOSCOW, June 10 (RIA Novosti) – An Italian woman who arrived late for the Air France plane flight that crashed in the Atlantic last week, killing all 228 on board, has died in a car accident, Italy’s ANSA news agency reported.

Johanna Ganthaler, a pensioner from the Bolzano-Bozen Province (South Tyrol), and her husband Kurt, were vacationing in Brazil and missed Air France flight 447 from Rio de Janeiro to Paris on June 1. The couple took a flight to Europe later that day.

The car veered off the road near Kufstein, Austria, killing Johanna.

Um. Whoa. I’m sure many of you have never seen “Final Destination” – and I actually impress upon you to not necessarily run out and RENT it – that’s exactly what happens! Some kids miss a plane, and death SEEKS THEM OUT.

Take from that what you will. I think everything’s pre-determined. Like “LOST”.

I get ragged on quite a bit for my TV choices. Last night, Justin couldn’t stop railing on me about my dedication to Fringe. That’s fine Justin, take your pot shots, I can’t help it that I’m on the cutting edge of pop culture, and don’t wait for 4 seasons of a show before finally diving in. (ahem. Lost) So – what happened? What makes it great? Why did it look like this episode was directed by John Woo and starring Kiefer Sutherland? Come, join me in the shadow of the statue….

Last night was perhaps the single best episode of the series. Why? Because we may not necessarily have received answers, but we got plot development, theme development, and most of all, what the hell that 4-toed statue that’s been bugging us since Season 2 revealed. (or was it 1? It all seems jumbled up to me). Turns out it’s some Egyptian fertility statue. (Why Egyptian, and why on this island, no one seems to care if you cruise message boards).

We start out with two Pirate looking dudes wearing silken clothes, eating and talking. Anyone who’s been watching Lost knows IMMEDIATELY that one of them was Jacob…. Oh screw it. You know what, let’s look at Lost from the eyes of Twitter.
