Fox News is apparently concerned that the quality of their program offerings is not shitty enough, so they’re bringing on Sarah Palin as a contributor.

I suppose it’s also possible they’re trying to make Glenn Beck look less crazy. Seems like a lateral move to me, but I suppose in some circles…

There are several ways to debate issues.

1. You debate the issue. Is the Public Option socialist or not/will it get the job done or not. For example.

2. You debate how you debate the issue: Should we act like under-educated screaming lunatics at public forums, or should we behave with passion yet civility and focus on facts?

3. You just attack the President.  No matter what.

The problem is that two out of these three approaches do nothing for us. Guess which two conservatives are going for these days?  And to take some responsibility here, us crazy liberals brought on approach #2. That of course was because of the actual presence of said under-educated screaming lunatics. But it’s a time waster. As is #3. The GOP specialty. The most recent is GOP Chairman Michael Steele upset over the President’s trip to Copenhagen to push for the Olympics. Mr. Steele, I don’t know if you know this, but recent advancements in technology have enabled millions of Americans to work from home. I think the President can stay on top of the healthcare debate in Europe.

There’s not enough of #1 going on. Not in any way that’s honest, at least. I have to hand it to conservatives, a term I’m using to describe the nebulously loose group of people known as 46% of the country, they really know how to make sure nothing gets done.

Funny. I don’t remember as much outrage from conservatives when Bush would “clear brush” in Texas, or when a devastated major U.S. city went unattended, or when, or when…

Last night on the trainwreck – er – hit show, “I’m a Celebrity” on NBC, Patti Blago said:

“My husband had this campaign where he was running against this woman who was a little bit like her,” Patti told him quietly. “And he thought of her as, as like a crazy old aunt. That he had to kind of like suffer and kind of like, and kind of just like, roll your eyes at. Like she’s the kooky old aunt. You had to be respectful to her because she’s your old aunt.”

For the record – we believe she was talking about Judy Baar Topinka, and for a few years now, we’ve been referring to her as “Your crazy Aunt Judy” – as evidenced in the following clips.

Who’s seen this new show on VH1? Oh my Lord. Danny Bonaduce, the Hollywood Agent, and every parent on that show should be arrested for child abuse. It’s crazy — so crazy I couldn’t look away — and then I kinda felt sick to my stomach. The parents are so completely crazy it makes for brilliant reality television… until you remember that these are real kids that are being poked, prodded, guilted and jazz handed to death. One mom says to her kid before every audition, “Let’s get rich, let’s get famous, let’s get that dream house!!!” And in a brilliant move, VH1 got Danny Bonaduce to host (because Cory Haim was busy playing the “only brother”).
