Sure, we may have gotten Steve Delahoyde to do the shooting, editing, a tad of the directing and most of the art direction, but the rest of it is alllll us.

Except for set building – we just used my office. And the art direction… the rest of it was decided by what props my co-workers decided to leave hanging around after 5.

BUT OTHER THAN THAT – we did everything else!

Hey all – a new WBEZ 20 video. We play talk show producers and the premise is “what if public radio didn’t exist? What would these guys do?”

We wrote and produced a bunch of short films for WBEZ’s new on-line fundraising campaign. If nothing else, we got to do bits with Kai Ryssdal and Carl Kasell. Well we’re doing these great videos over at WBEZ. Getting to work with some pret-ty famous people (if you’re a radio geek) and get to make some fun jokes along the way. It’s all to get people to just give $20.

That just means you don’t buy that porn video on OnDemand this month. I mean c’mon, you only watch 6 minutes of it anyway… Why not hand that money over to Chicago Public Radio.

Saturday night will mark the first time since 2003 that we were able to actually book Even in Blackouts. We’ve gone around and around trying to get this kick-ass acoustic punk band to play with us and it just never worked out. They did the theme song for our Chicago Public Radio program and they don’t sit still, touring all over the world non-stop. The band is led by John Pierson, also known as Jughead from the band Screeching Weasel. This will be an awesome night and we can’t wait to introduce them. Here’s the short version of the Schad theme song from way back. Don’t accidentally turn off your radio…

Turns out Chicago Public Radio’s Vocalo.org project is accepting applications for their upcoming talent show. Our resident meathead Todd Voorhies is in the process of submitting his very own self-produced audition piece. He wanted us to remind you that he was in the middle of a client meeting with a high-level VP for Duraflame while going through final edits. Thanks Todd! Go Cubs!
