MAY 10th: PBR Presents: “Schadenfreude Rent Party” at the Empty Bottle (West town). Let’s get indie! Join us at the famed Empty Bottle on Western as we try to do our best impression of a rock show. Isn’t the old saying “comedians want to be rock stars and rock stars want to be comedians?” We’ll put that to the test at the Bottle. Beatbox sensation Yuri Lane is back in the house, Second City’s Claudia Wallace performs and we are thrilled to have Chicago’s best punk rock choir Blue Ribbon Glee Club on the bill. Time TBA. $10.

MAY 17th: PBR Presents: “Schadenfreude Rent Party” at the Hideout (next to where the dumptrucks fill up). The Hideout will be the scene for the second annual “Alternative Media Slam!!!!!!!” The idea is you get a bunch of alternative media together and create an 8-mile like tournament, but with cleverly worded and very hurtful insults at your opponent. The crowd chooses! Members of Chicagoist, Timeout Chicago, Gapers Block, RedEye and reigning champs the Reader will compete. And if that ain’t show enough, how bout the hottest DJ’s on the planet right now The Hood Internet. And why don’t we balance it out with some real soul. The band JC Brooks and the Uptown Sound will keep the joint rockin til the early morn. Also, new world premiere videos from Schad and Steve Delahoyde. Also Funny Ha-Ha Writer Claire Zulkey. If that’s too much? Then go home! 9pm. $10.

MAY 24th: PBR Presents: “Schadenfreude Rent Party” at the Gallery Cabaret (Bucktown).We wind down the PBR tour by coming back where we started. The Gallery is our home away from home and we are glad to be back in our building. We are not approaching this as a wind-down though, if anything this is our grand finale. Our good Schaden-friend Jill Benjamin is back from LA! The better half of Piccups and Hiccups is back to tear it up! We will bring our friends Don Hall and Joe Janes to kick you in the teeth. Drag sensation Bertha Mason will make dessert and of course, Kenny is going to take his shirt off. 9pm. $10. Free food.

SUMMER 2008: Schadenfreude at Theater on the Lake! In honor of our 10th year, Schad is teaming with the City of Chicago to present our original long-running sketch revue from 1998, featuring some of the best sketches from Schad’s 10 year history. Wed., June 25th through Sun., June 29th. All shows at 7.30 pm (Sunday’s at 6.30 pm). Don’t miss it, because we aren’t doing them again. Tickets are $17.50, call 312-742-PLAY for reservations.

September 2008: Schadenfreude at Carleton College! We’re returning to Northfield, MN on Saturday, September 20th to entertaining the students on their first weekend back to campus.

November 2008 On Saturday, November 15th, we’ll return for another offering with our friends at the beautiful, newly-restored Wilmette Theatre. Expect a multimedia rent-party style variety show featuring guests and brand new Schad comedy! We’re hoping that, for the first time, we can get a critic to review both our stage show AND short films. Keep your fingers crossed!
