So here’s something about me you won’t know what to do with… I’m kind of obsessed with Jeff Bridges. I wrote him a 7 page letter after I saw Starman in 1984  (still have a draft version and I bet you wish I had that new scanner now). My mom and I watched Thunderbolt and Lightfoot together on ON-TV and when it was over, I turned to her with all my 12-year-old earnestness and proclaimed “Jeff Bridges really is an artist but of acting”. I paid to see Seabiscuit (which is a horrible film that you are wrong about if you like).

Naturally, when I saw the Han Solo, P.I. video, this is where my mind went.

We recorded, according to TwinGalaxies.com regulations, Dave beating the previous record holder for the Home Run training on the Wii. Congrats Dave!! Now, we just have to wait for them to validate the recording!

I’m pretty sure that if Fox News was an employee at a company like Ernst & Young and they called an African American co-worker a “Baby Mama” they’d get fired.  Right?  This is nuts, right?  And I love that it’s Michelle Malkin’s mug right up there on the screen.  First she gets all up in my Dunkin’ Donuts business (who I am still boycotting, BTW) and now she’s spouting off next to these graphics.  I kinda wish I was crazy enough to watch FOX News so that I could boycott them too.  Here’s link to the segment if you’re interested in seeing the offensiveness is real time.

Thanks to some intrepid Polish bootleggers (hence the subtitles) – the trailer for the Clone Wars movie is online! Now, I gotta admit, I’m not a big fan of the “Jimmy Neurton” style of animation, just a bit too plastic-y and fake in my opinion. But sheesh – after watching the trailer – I have to admit, a decent story about a part of the Clone Wars that hasn’t been told before…. and all the hot Jedi-on-Jedi action… I’m in. Enjoy until a ceases and desist tells us otherwise.

Here’s internet phenom “Surfer Dude” – if they are ever doing a remake of “Fast Times at Ridgemont High” – I have a suggestion for Spicoli. Seriously – if it weren’t for the hand gestures, I’d have no idea what this guy was trying to tell me.

This is what the kids are watching these days. It’s a show called “Yu-Gi-Oh” – and has something to do with magic cards that make monsters and have the ability to kill other kids. Except the other kids can make their own monsters to stop those monsters. And they also have other cards that aren’t monsters that can stop monsters.



Does anyone play checkers anymore? Or how about a nice game of Monopoly? I must be getting older.

Where you just aren’t sure whether or not you should “Go For It!”? The kind where the weight of the world seems to be bearing down more than you can lift? Where, in your head, you’re the big strong guy who is lifting 3000 lbs by pulling it off the ground, and there’s that step where you have to rest the bar on your enourmously huge muscular chest to catch your breath before pushing it up over your head and you just aren’t sure if you have that strength so you just might let it roll off onto the ground and let it hit the stage floor with that satisfying “thud” and 2-inch bounce that only barbells that weigh 3 tons can produce?

If you are EVER in that situation, crack open a fresh stick of Degree® Anti-Persperant. Because right there, right after you crack the top and remove the little plastic shield is a message – GO FOR IT!

My brother-in-law always sends me joke emails. I love ‘em. Sure, about 1 in 7 consists of a gallery of half-naked or body-painted women that isn’t exactly SFW, but at the end of the day, the jokes outweigh, and I like to take my chances.

This morning – he sends me one about a town in Austria called “Fucking”. Yup. That’s the name of the town, along with a shot of MapPoint revealing it’s location, and a shot of the city sign as you enter the limits. Of course, it’s a big sign that says, “Fucking”.

Looks like another hoax email. I was all ready to hit the delete button when I thought, “Well, maybe….?” So I did a Wikipedia search. Sure enough – I came across this entry. Well gosh darn. I guess it IS real. Who woulda’ thunk it. Better yet, the online resident expert on hoaxes, Snopes, confirms it as well.

So guys – just be careful next time you say, “Fucking Austria.” Someone might think you’re talking about the place, and not just calling Austria a place with a bunch of damned idjits. While both may be true, you most likely mean the second.
