On your way to the Chicago marathon tomorrow, tune-in to WGN Radio (720 AM) around 6.30 in the morning — I’m going on “Sunday Papers with Rick Kogan” to talk about my show HERO at IO and Schad’s upcoming show at the Lakeshore. Last year the Chicago Marathon was sponsored by LaSalle Bank. Then Bank of America took over. I was hoping they’d call it “The Windy City’s Big 26.2 Mile Marathon Run ‘Till Your Done From Bucktown to Chinatown Autumn Mag Mile Frango Mints Keep On Runnin’ Machine Spectacular.” I guess “Bank of America Marathon” is a better identifyer.
I’m directing the new show HERO, and it opens tonight! A fantastic cast featuring Brian Boland, Jet Eveleth, Brendan Jennings, Holly Laurent, Pat McKenna and Claudia Wallace will team-up on Wednesdays at 8 to improvise a one-act play. Scotty Iseri is on lights and sound. I guarantee it’ll be cool every night. HERO starts at 8 pm tonight at IO (3541 N. Clark). Sweet!
