I got to hustle and fit everyone in for the Empty Bottle! Ken Barnard is Chicago's #1 Performance comedian. He won "Most Innovative Comic" at this year's Chicago Comedy Awards and he has come in 2nd place in the Andy Kaufman contest at the NY Comedy Festival. Ken is also the voice and the mastermind behind the "Montrose Sinkhole" protest, in which he got news coverage for trying to keep ...

PBR Tour: Claudia Wallace Live Shows! | (0)
Tomorrow! 8pm at the Empty Bottle. We will be graced with the presence of Claudia! Claudia Wallace has performed around Chicago for several years and you probably saw her on the mainstage at Second City. She was on the stage for over 5 years and she is now living in LA, splitting time! But she is back for this show and we are very humbled to have her in the ...

PBR Tour: Yuri Lane Live Shows!, Schadenfriends | (0)
So our main man Yuri Lane comes back to the Schad Rent Party this weekend at the Empty Bottle. Yuri performed with us at the Gallery and then we loved the bit so much that we dragged him to a Heineken promotion at the Park West and then up to the Wilmette Theater. Yuri is a beatbox musician and he can deep throat a harmonica. I think that's what you ...

PBR Tour: Blue Ribbon Glee Club Live Shows! | (0)
Today we start pumping up the guests for this week's Empty Bottle Rent Party. Let's start with the biggest act and frankly, the one that I am most excited to see from the whole tour. BRGC is a punk rock choir. So they take tunes from the Pixies, the Clash or Fugazi and belt them out a cappella. I've heard the tunes but never seen them live. I ...

Douche of Day: Stephen and Sandy Douche of the Day, Movies | (26)
When I first saw our "Summer Movie Blockbuster Madness" brackets (look above), I loved the idea! I'm not much of a movie person. Last movie I saw in the theater was Super Bad, and that was a month after it was popular. I just don't like spending money. And it costs me almost 30 bucks to go see shitty hollywood drivel. But I was excited about the brackets.  And then ...

PBR Tour: The Neo-Futurists Live Shows! | (3)
Save the best for last ey? I've been writing about why you should come to the Red Line Tap Schadenfreude Rent Party (sponsored by PBR) this Saturday night. Hannibal, Pat McKenna and the band Even in Blackouts will be there and we will be celebrating our return to the Heartland Cafe complex, which we left back in 2000. This is our first night back.  If all that is not enough, ...

Studio 312: Schadenfreude on the Radio! Press | (2)
Jimmy Carrane graciously asked us to come on the Chicago Public Radio show "Studio 312", which airs within the morning program "Eight Forty-Eight". We just broke Jimmy's balls for a couple minutes and they told the audience about the pilot and the Rent Party. Good times at 9am! Enjoy it here!

PBR Tour: Hannibal Live Shows! | (0)
It's not every day that Schad gets to play with the funniest guy in Chicago. Well, that's what Timeout annointed Hannibal Buress after he won their 2007 competition. He hates it. Every time I see him I ask "how does it feel to be the funniest guy in Chicago?" You know, for the ego. Hannibal has been super successful and has performed at the Montreal Comedy Festival and everywhere else ...

I Can’t Decide Which Commercial Should Suck It Douche of the Day | (1)
I really can't decide. I'm really think I would be a rich man if some cable access or local tv station would give me a show where I just rip on commercials and local TV while it is on. Like MST3K but for what they put on the tv right now. Pick one: The Grand Theft Auto commercial is ridiculous. Even if you are a geek, you must admit that ...

PBR Tour: Red Line Tap About Us, Live Shows! | (1)
On Saturday night at Silvies, we asked the crowd how many people had come up to the Heartland back in 1998-2000? About 3 people raised their hands. As a matter of fact, people probably didn't know we even did an open run in Chicago. We started up at the Heartland in 1998 in a black box theater that sat 39, 45 if we sat people on the floor. It had ...
