You’ll find a few annoying things about using them, but you’ll get used to it fairly quickly. I forgot I had them most of the time and started to never notice when they went dark.

And yes, you’ll look like a jackass sometimes if you go indoors from the sun and have a meeting directly thereafter.

Separately, and perhaps more importantly, you look like an ass in a bright room. I don’t recommend ‘em.

@Connor – That’s what I need – the laymen’s opinion. And you’re right, those commercials are very indicative of the Island/Logan’s Run/The Prisoner – so not only do they bring up images of the end of the world, they also indicate I won’t need to switch glasses when it comes.

But I know plenty of people who wear glasses and all of them sort of marvel at the Transitions commercial. I get how the ad is probably demonstrating all this crazy awesome shit that people who need glasses respond to but I just think everyone in it looks like a jackass. Let’s leave out the fact that the whole world of the ad basically looks like a creepy Island/Logan’s Run world… the glasses just don’t look very good on most of the people in the commercial… and that tinting-before-your-very-eyes thing sorta makes me think these glasses exist in a world where all blue jeans have special pockets for your 20-sided die… so there’s your two cents from someone who doesn’t know the first thing about eyewear.
