Schendfreude does realize that Angry Dad was done on the Simpsons. There was an episode where Bart creates a comic book called Angry Dad based on Homer. I think, as the story goes, that his comic was bought by some ultra hip internet start-up and they put Angry Dad online. Bart was paid in stock only to have the start up collapse and leave poor young Bartholomew with nothing.

    I’m just saying.

All of our ideas have been / will be done by someone else. It’s just a matter of time. Our Angry Dad’s first appearance is 1998. Now we need to check on the Simpsons…

First Shepard Fairey and now this… stop hurting me, culture.

The reason we didn’t do a Vampire movie was because they did Blade in 1998.

Also we were offered The Family Guy, but we knew a pop-culture-laden animated show about a dopey factory worker who always gets into trouble and has to be rescued by his smart wife was pretty played out.

And of course, the reason we didn’t do an office comedy is because, can you really do an office comedy after Office Space?

But then, Phudie Mart takes place in a supermarket, the location of the immortal classic, Employee of the Ten Items or Month.

I quit. I’m moving to Beloit.
