Last Chance Saloon for FUN!

I know you missed it. I know most of you have no idea what I’m talking about when I mention “Dr. Horrible.” Much less, “Dr. Horrible’s Sing-along Blog.” Joss Whedon – the guy behind Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Serenity – and a whole lot of other sci-fi/fantasy pop-culture defining moments came up with this great character, “Dr. Horrible” – and his quest to gain entry into the “Evil League of Evil” – run by Bad Horse. Dr. Horrible is played with awesome intensity by Neil Patrick Harris as he falls in love, attempts to destroy his arch-nemesis, Captain Hammer (Nathan Fillion) and generally tries to deal with a sidekick named “Moist”, who, as you probably assumed by now, gets things… moist. It was up for awhile, at drhorrible.com, then taken down (it was a special web-event) – but now (today ONLY) it’s up on Hulu. Catch it. And if you miss it, buy it from iTunes.

In case you missed it – here’s the link – TODAY ONLY!

Would you believe I just watched it on Hulu and was coming to Schad to post it? And here you are posting it. Dr. Horrible is a reminder of how lucky I am to live in a time and place where this exists. It’s the best of everything.

    I loved this.
And a note to the non-geeks amongst us – I am NOT a Joss Whedon fan. Liked Serenity… firefly dragged too much. Buffy and Angel? I just don’t get it… and at the risk of inviting some huge explanation/justification that I will never read – I don’t think he’s a very good writer. It is like he absorbed all the throwaway-chuckle-lines from John Hughes movies and built plots around them.
But this? Love this. But before we give him too much credit, I would invite you all to read Soon I Will Be Invincible by Austin Grossman which Dr. Horrible ‘borrows’ from liberally.
