Didn’t we decide that after Revenge of the Nerds, Temple of Doom & Goonies that the “wacky young Asian guy” was kinda racist? Then what’s up with the new Six Flags commercials with that guy yelling at me in broken English? That’s wrong – right? Or is it cool to be racially insensitive again? If so, can somebody let me know these things? Not that it would change any of the content on this site — but it’d just be nice to be in the loop.
Well, if you listen closely, he says “fLags” and not “fRags” so… it’s only 1/2 as racist as it could be.
Also, not that he does lose his [fake] Japanese accent when he yells the “More flags, more fun” line.
So perhaps Six Flags isn’t so 1986 racist… maybe it’s more like 1995 racist?
Edit: “Also, NOTE that he loses..”
Almost as good as the racial profiling in the Aldi ads. The ones with older Afican American couple buying carton upon carton of crappy powedered mashed potatos for their Sunday dinner. Followed by the ad with white folks buying organic foods. I am feeling especially white today – I think I will eat some Arugala.
