Douche of the Day: Doctors and Casting Directors who omit Noun Markers in everyday speech

9780321121882.jpgDid using articles suddenly go out of style? We all know that members of the medical community refer to A Baby or Your Baby as “Baby” and The Doctor or Your Doctor as “Doctor.” But why, and when did this start? And when, then, did producers and casting directors begin referring to The Camera as “Camera?” “Camera really likes you. Be sure and cheat to Camera. Camera loooooooooves Tom Cruise. How’s Baby? Did you give Bottle to Baby before you brought Baby to see Doctor about Protruding Butthole?” Come on. Somewhere along the way, they traded article usage for little koala bears to go on Doctor’s coat to make Baby feel better when Baby needs Bottle.
