Since We Were Just Talking About Summer Glau.

Summer Glau - Terminatrix - Schadenfreude I’ve been a Summer Glau fan for awhile.  She was the kick-ass “River” in the short-lived Joss Whedon TV show Firefly.  Apparently, she was up for the role of Kitty in X-Men: This Time We’ll Throw in Everyone, but lost out to Ellen Page (who is just fantastic in Juno – FYI).  Anywhoo – I’m watching the new Terminator show FOX has decided to throw together – and throughout the episode, she’s doing the weird Jekyll/Hyde thing that the Seinfeld episode dove into.  In some light – she’s gorgeous, in other light, looks something like a cross between a hag, and that girl from high school that no one talked to because no one really knew she was there because she looked like linoleum.  Know what I mean?  I can’t decide if this is because of the way they shot the episode, or if this is because she’s really a robot, and the producers of the show don’t want people to start thinking that it’s ok to think a robot is hot.

Oh yeah, about the Terminator-riffic show – best sci-fi part of it is a time machine built from parts scavenged in 1963 (the whole steampunk idea, which is totally rocking) AND the best time-jump-need-to-keep-in-line-with-original ever – they (the trio of hapless heroes: Mom, Son and Terminatrix) jump from 1999 to 2007.  Best part is, there’s a shot of the three of them, naked (because, only living tissue can jump through time, duh!) and when they arrive, Mom and Son have a moment where they look at a CAR – and have this “Wow.  The future IS weird moment.”  C’mon.
