The AMPTP

I’m gonna go ahead and call it out. The Alliance of Douchebag Producers and Jagoffs of Film and Television is today’s Douche. Big, huge douche. What the WGA is asking for is fair. They gave a show of faith 20 years ago, took a cut in revenue generated from Home Video sales – among other items – and now, the ADPJFTV is back at it again.

And I’m not saying they’re a douche for what they are doing to the WGA – I’m saying they are a douche for holding out so long that now that all my shows are done with their “Fall Season” – I have a Christmas of “Clash of the Choirs” to look forward to.

CLASH OF THE CHOIRS?! Come ON! Everytime I sat down to watch an episode of “House” – and I saw a commercial for the schlock Fox was advertising, I would get a tear. Sure, I watch ANTM and Project Runway. Big deal, wanna make something of it?! Didn’t think so. But when CBS starts going retro, and giving me the “Best 25 Grammy Performances of All Time” – I start to get sad that “24” is delayed until 2009. That “Family Guy” may leave the air permanently because of what Fox did to Seth McFarland. That now, all I have to look forward to is renting Seasons 1 and 2 of “The Unit” – and pacing myself to watch episodes once a week.

I may just do that. I may just rent a ton of shows that I haven’t seen, and watch a single episode of each a night. I could create my own network.

See – that’s what the AMPTP has forced me into.
