Not All Advertising is Bad

I get ragged on a lot because I’m always coming down on advertisers. I expect a lot from campaigns because I know some “hipster” jack asses sat in a room for 3 hours, played XBOX for 2 1/2 of those, and in the last 30 minutes, came up with this “kick ass” concept of “televisiphonernetting.”

But then, every so often, a dick joke comes along that makes it into an ad campaign for a popular brand. Take Philips/Norelco. Check out this site [www.shaveeverywhere.com]. The company that created this not only got dick jokes in, but also a shocker joke (see pic) AND got it past the Legal and Censorship committees for the parent company.

Well played Advertising Company – well played. This is the kind of stuff – maybe not the BEST executed, but the fact that an original idea based around a taboo subject made it’s way to be associated with a pretty well known brand is enough for me to respect it.

And respect it I do.
