Douche of The Day: 93.9 The Holiday Lite

Seriously, 93.9? You’re going to start playing Christmas music on Friday November 2nd — no warning at all? I read that The Lite started playing X-mas jams early to try and “out-holiday” WCKG who had mentioned kicking off their holiday rotation when their programming switched on Friday. False alarm — and now 93.9 is left to spin 9 weeks of annoying holiday faves. “Holiday” when it comes to music means Christmas and New Year’s (unless I’m forgetting any Thanksgiving songs), so I don’t think we should be subjected to holiday music until after Thanksgiving. And if you say “just turn the station” that’s all well and good until you go into an elevator, or a 7-11 or the Jewel on Ashland. 93.9 is owned by Clear Channel who probably enjoys the extra holiday TV & Radio ad revenue now that the Christmas Season is 3 months long. I’m on to you Clear Channel… you’re a douche, too!
