Okay, I’m going to say this for the last time to everyone

I’ve had two conversations with two PTA fans in the last month and uttered a phrase I’ve now uttered 650,000 times. “I love Hard Eight” and that PTA fan, like every single other PTA fan I’ve EVER EVER talked to, said the same goddamn thing. They haven’t seen it, and I realized something. I’ve never met someone that didn’t see Boogie Nights and Magnolia and I’ve never met someone who DID see Hard Eight

One other filmmaker I’ve left out of my love of 2007 is the first film from Paul Thomas Anderson since 2002′s Punchdrunk Love, which gets better every time I watch it and is a wonderful variation on a very varied career. The new film stars Daniel Day Lewis and is called There Will Be Blood, great title, check out the trailer here. But I’m posting this, not out of love, but out of frustration, because I’ve had two conversations with two PTA fans in the last month and uttered a phrase I’ve now uttered 650,000 times. “I love Hard Eight” and that PTA fan, like every single other PTA fan I’ve EVER EVER talked to, said the same goddamn thing. They haven’t seen it, and I realized something. I’ve never met someone that didn’t see Boogie Nights and Magnolia and I’ve never met someone who DID see Hard Eight? What part of John C. Reilly, Samuel L. Jackson, Gwyneth Paltrow, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Philp Baker Hall, and Paul Thomas Anderson is the biggest disincentive? Please, man your Netflix queues. Yeesh. Not you Justin, you just had a baby, but the rest of you’s.
