Phudie Mart, live on your Sprint PCS phone

So a couple of years ago, we were approached by some reps from Blip TV to license Phudie for exclusive download on Sprint PCS phones. The folks are cool, have a strong business model, and we’ve actually seen a very small bit of money from the whole deal. Joke is, they love the old version of Phudie — and by old version, I mean the OLD version. After showing Phudie over the years, people have become endeared to it for some reason.

We’ve always talked of doing a reshoot (enter Reason #45 for turning it into a full
length screenplay) and are always saying “Sure, we can give you Phudie . . . would you also like to see XYZ? I think people like Phudie for two reasons — #1, it was obviously done for no money at all, and #2, it becomes a curiousity — “Did these guys get permission from Jewel to do this?” . . . watch closely, and in a couple of shots you’ll see the manager on duty walking over to kick us out. I think one of the guys nearly talks to us in the opening oranges bit. Long story short — if you have a Sprint PCS phone, go to Blip TV and watch it in the cab. In fact, it’s supposedly playing on TV screens in bus stations in China. And in cabs in Finland. No kidding. Soooooooooooo . . . next time you’re in Hong Kong . . .
