Tuesday 24 Wrap Up – 2 AM – 3 AM

I guess we could have dubbed last night’s episode, “Parade of the Secondary Characters”. Seriously – in the opening bits, the VP and “The Rickker” get call outs before Jack? BEFORE Jack? Hell, even Marilyn Bauer got a nod – AND Lisa Miller. *SIGH* looks like they had to shore up some time, so they might as well remind us of the peopel we aren’t going to see next season.

And I guess I can stop complaining about Milo’s arm, huh? Bye-Bye Milo, we hardly knew your poor-shaven, hazardly dressed, hip-nerd attitude – and now, we never will.

More on how to break into CTU – the LEAST secure facility on the face of the earth after the jump.

As far as places I feel safe on the planet – I’m gonna rank “Pizza-Ria” on 16th and Ridgeland in Berwyn a few spots higher than CTU “somewhere in LA”. For God’s sake – all someone needs to do is think about breaking in, and they can. And as far as the security staff goes – I’m gonna rank the University of Delaware Rent-A-Cops a few spots higher than the goons they use in white shirts at CTU.

And really – do we need a recap of how much Marilyn loves Jack but won’t say it outright? Sheila hadn’t seen the show all season, and while holed up in a Best Western in Mechanicsburg, PA (somehwere along the line, people got tired of naming towns, I’m convinced of that) – she took one look at Baby Bauer and says, weird, he looks like Elisha Cuthbert. Yeah honey, not so weird. All of America knew in hour 6 that Jack was Baby Bauer’s dad. Why do the writers take so long to get there? Are they trying to convince themselves this adds to the “drama”? No, it doesn’t.

And Jack would have grabbed more guns along the way, and put up a bigger fight before giving himself up. We ALL wanted to see Jack go Rambo on the Chinese punks who break into HIS home turf. And before that, the look in Jack’s eye when he was sizing up the two Rent-A-dorks while in holding… I wanted to see him take ’em.

Oh women, you are so finicky about who you can and can’t lie to. Lisa – you’re a treasonous whore – get used to it, we won’t be seeing you next season. Because apparently, you can’t act. I loved the preview for next week, when we see the boyfriend call her out – like I didn’t see that coming after the AWESOME performance of her phone call, and walking into the apartment. For Christ’s sake – not all men are stupid – just the VP of the United States, and Jack (Nina Meyers – still pissed she’s dead) and all other necessary plot “twists” in 24.

And it totally makes sense for Nadia to fall in love with “The Rickker” – I mean, he’s obviously passionate. And dedicated. 10 horus ago, he tortured Nadia – and if anything says, “I love you” – it’s handcuffs, drugs and yelling. He’s not only passionate… but also thrifty. And it’s not to often you come across that in life…

This leads me to Rule of 24 #4:

If ever you say you are going to bring every available soldier to an operation, be prepared for an attack on your home base. It’s gonna happen.

Did anyone NOT see that coming? We all knew they weren’t at Bloomfield. Of COURSE they were going to strike CTU – where else would there have been a package – and how in all that is holy did Farmer Hodgett know all the “codes” to hack into CTU’s security system? I mean, really. That’s a lot of passwords, “firewalls”, “sub-system routing tables”, “thinga-majigs with blinking lights” to have to remember. And how did he get them in the first place? He’s just a contractor. Even Bill doesn’t know that shit.

2 hours left, and we have to kill Chang, save Baby Bauer from Bad Grampa (told you he was going to be back), destroy the FB Sub-Circuit Board so the Russians don’t nuke us, get President Palmer healthy, find out what happened to Bill, wonder if Bill and Karen’s marriage is going to survive (keeping my fingers crossed), wonder if Jack can ever let go of Audrey and be happy with Marilyn (and his son!!), hope Chloe and Morrisscan survive this latest attack to their relationship, pray that Nadia and Ricky have at least one more longing look into each other’s eyes, figure out what happened to last season’s President and the Designing Woman wife, and hope that the writers don’t end the season with Jack waking up next to Audrey in bed saying, “I had the strangest dream….”
