Where Have I Seen That Guy Before? (Vol. 1: Powers Boothe)

As a longtime fan of Hollywood’s supporting character actors, I’m starting a new infrequent and irregular feature — the Salute to the Second Banana. Today, we start with Power’s Boothe.

I’ve heard a few people refer to the “Bad Vice President” in 24 lately, and have asked me where they’ve seen him before. I live for these questions– I love rattling off a person’s “He Was That Guy in XYZ” at the drop of a hat.

Today, we salute Powers Boothe! Back in the day, he played Philip Marlowe Private Eye. He also played that pilot in Red Dawn that Lea Thompson gets a crush on. Where else have you seen him before? Welllllll . . . he turned in a great performance as Curly Bill in Tombstone, was in JFK, U-Turn (previously known as Red Rock West), and is in Deadwood and, wait. He was also in Extreme Prejudice and Sin City.

Here’s to Powers Boothe!
