New York Diaries: Part Three ~ The After Party

You can’t go to SNL and not party afterwards!! Actually, you can, but we were lucky enough to tag along to the after party (thanks yet again, Seth!) How does SNL party down? Does everyone get naked? Did I get naked? Want to know more? (Nakedness not guaranteed) Well you came to the right blog on the right day while avoiding work!

If you party SNL style you hop in a car that is waiting out front of NBC. We got into a limo with Seth and some of his college pals — it was just like Prom. But with Seth… and his college pals… and I wasn’t worried about getting pregnant. BOOM. Joke. I still got it.

When we arrived at the party, which was at some new swank Brazilian restaurant/club we were waived inside. I have no idea what the name of the place was or how we got there. Just the way they want it. Or maybe I just wasn’t paying attention.

I wish I could say that shortly after we arrived, they took us to the cocaine room where we all got naked and took turns converting to a religion that requires some sort of bracelet… but it’s not true. I know it makes for good blogging, but it wouldn’t be the truth.

The truth is that Sandy and I had a great night catching up with Chicago: The New York Bureau. There are a lot of Chicagoans taking names in NYC. It makes me proud. We had lots of great drinks and even better convo and I was surprisingly awake when we rolled into our hotel at 5 AM.

We made an attempt to catch the after, after party (which in Chicago is known as “Sunday”), but bailed with Seth after trying to wade through a crowd of close to 100 outside some other bar that I can’t remember the name of. It was 4:45 in the morning — what were all those people doing up??

All in all, it was quite a night. A marathon and I can’t quite figure out how those guys do it week in and week out… Pretty incredible.

And THAT was only Saturday! More to come about Daily Show and our Broadway extravaganza…
