Top 5 IPod JAMZ!

tlc.jpg

Adam called me out last week and wanted to know what were the 5 top shuffles on my I-pod. I just did it. It is a great mixture of hot jams and embarassment. Nice combo. I share my I-Pod with the wifey, and she is big into what is on the radio at the time. So usually, we have the hottest 1 hit wonder junk that lasts for about 3 weeks. Then, it goes into shuffle. Get the top 5 after the jump.

I share my I-Pod with the wifey, and she is big into what is on the radio at the time. So usually, we have the hottest 1 hit wonder junk that lasts for about 3 weeks. Then, it goes into shuffle. Get the top 5 after the jump. This is truly the first 5. You can tell because they aren’t really that exciting.

1) Beautiful – Snoop Dogg/Pharrell. This is one of those songs that always pops up when shuffling. I am kind of sick of it. But it does remind me of Friday nights rollin on dubs. You know, hanging out the window of my Impala shoutin at the honeys around Armitage and Halsted? I would yell “YURRR MY FAVORITE GIRRRRRRLLLLL” out the window. Then I would tongue kiss Julie. I like this jam, it reminds me of driving around Chicago.

2) I Believe in a Thing Called Love – Darkness. This is the embarrasing one. I don’t know, it was all the rage in 2004. Now, it seems pretty lame. The song is still cool, but it just seems to be lame. I remember this song being popular around my wedding. And everyone jumped up and down and made it a sweaty, memorable dance. We ended the wedding with the Faces “Oooh La La”, to replicate the ending to Rushmore. Dorky much?

3) Too Close – Next. This is a great song! This was one of the songs that Tommy and I would jam in the Ford Escort Wagon. Then at my birthday, TP went up and did this song on karaoke. We never realy knew the words, but I guess it is about getting a woody on the dance floor cuz you so hot. **Quick side note: I wish more people would use the word woody.*** Anyway, Tommy actually did the song 4-5 times throughout the karoake-jammed night. I have pictures of that night showing Andersen, Josh Andrews, James. J, Merideth and Patty, Katie W., and all the Schad guys. It was a total blast. Great song, just don’t listen to the lyrics.

4) Ring the Alarm – Beyonce. See above warning about Julie and her impulse buys.

5) Creep – TLC. OK, I’ll take this one. Creep reminds me of all the parties with the college crew. Well, I wasn’t in college. I just remember a couple of nights on Wolcott, hanging out with Eric Schmidt and Amy Elfman. They were both from McHenry. I knew Eric’s brother Chris pretty well. They moved a block from me in Chicago. I hadn’t seen them since the high school days so I thought why not hang out. I went to a party where all the ole Wonder Lake crew showed up (cause they were buds with Eric) and all of Amy’s new friends from her job at the White Hen on Lawrence (all hispanic dudes). So the white trash and the hispanic dudes decided to claim turf. They got into a big fight in the alley. I remember knowing a couple of the guys from the White Hen and being happy to see them. I also slightly remember the bottle of Tequila I was sharing with them. Once it started looking like the fight was on, I remember stumbling home. I also remember waking up in the same clothes with my jacket on. I was sitting in the chair with the light on. It was now 8am. I had to throw those clothes away.

Creep.
