The OTHER Part of the Superbowl…

Superbowl Ads

I know most of Chicago was glued to the boob-tube during the game, and used the commercial breaks to actually pee, get more food, grab another beer, pee, grab another beer and grab another beer.

Seeing as how I was a guest in DE for the Chicago Superbowl – I was almost treated like royalty. People brought me stuff when I asked – which was kinda cool!

This gave me the opportunity to watch the commercials.

Observations and commercials after the jump.

Superbowl Ads. The wrap-up.

The Return of the Animals.

So, talking animals are hip again? I don’t know – but the sight of watching that mouse get ripped across the floor made me chuckle.

What the F**k?!?!?!

Just who came up with this idea for FedEx? And how did this get aired? Sometimes I wonder if they just do this because they can. Not because they should. I’m not using FedEx anymore. I’ll use UPS with that weird long-hair dude drawing on the whiteboard….

End it at the Kiss

‘Nuff said. Ripping hair – not so much. Another sketch that made it as a commercial. Schad should be doing this. Give us 74 years – we’ll make it onto a Superbowl. Promise.

GTA – Coke.

I spent the first 30 seconds wondering if I should know the main character. Is that Tony Hawk? Someone else? But after I let go – I was left with enjoying the absurdity of it. Fun CGI!

My Favorite – Robert Goulet Can Sell Anything

Robert Goulet! How freakin’ weird. And the sight of him crawling on the ceiling….? Priceless.

Budweiser Isn’t Cool Anymore

Honda tried using crabs with the whole sneaker-car commercials (“I pinch.”) Much better than this stupid commercial. Bud – I’m done with you until you show me some respect.

There were others – the first commercial of the night “Rock, Paper, Scissors” did elicit a laugh…

Did I miss any? Anything you wanted? Anything you missed? Let me know!
